Falconers LLP is Pleased to Announce that Associate Akosua Matthews has been Selected as one of Canadian Lawyer’s Top 25 Most Influential

Every year, Canadian Lawyer magazine calls for nominations of jurists who have recently accomplished important work and contributed significantly to the legal profession in the following five categories of influence: Corporate Commercial & Litigation; Human Rights, Advocacy and Criminal law; Changemakers; Government/Non-Profits/Associations/Academic and the Judiciary; and Young Influencers for lawyers 40 years or younger. Akosua was nominated and selected as one of five lawyers under the category of ‘Young Influencer’.

Akosua highlighted Falconers LLP’s representation of Nishnawbe Aski Nation in the ongoing proceeding before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, regarding Indigenous Child Welfare. Additionally, Akosua is actively involved in the community, in particular as the youngest member of the YMCA of Greater Toronto Area Board and as Vice President of the Regent Park Community Health Centre Board.
