Formal Hearing Settled – Rev Vosper Returns to Pulpit Sunday

The Toronto Conference, Rev. Vosper and West Hill United Church have settled all outstanding issues between them. Rev. Vosper will remain in ordained ministry at West Hill. This settlement means that there will be no Formal Hearing. Other specifics within the settlement are legally confidential.

Both Rev. Vosper and the congregants at West Hill are relieved and deeply grateful that this process has concluded. This coming Sunday, Rev. Vosper will return to her Ministry at West Hill, without any conditions. Rev. Vosper and West Hill may continue to nurture the community they have built.

Rev. Vosper has served as the Minister of West Hill United Church, since 1997. West Hill is located in Scarborough and within the Toronto Conference of the United Church of Canada.

Rev. Vosper has numerous publications to her name, including two books: With or Without God: Why the Way We Live Is More Important than What We Believe, published by Harper Collins Canada in 2008; and (Amen: What Prayer Can Mean in a World Beyond Belief, published by Harper Collins Canada in 2012.

Falconers LLP Counsel Julian Falconer and Akosua Matthews have assisted Rev. Vosper through this process, since May 2015.
