Kocsis Appeal Quashed
On May 18, 2016, lawyer Asha James of Falconers LLP appeared before the Court of Appeal on behalf of Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) in the matter of NAN v. Ron Kocsis et al.
Mr. Kocsis was appealing a ruling of of Justice Pierce of the Superior Court of Justice in Thunder Bay. After hearing submissions from both parties, the Court quashed the appeal on the grounds that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter.
