On Wednesday March 29, 2023, during the fourth National Gathering on Unmarked Burials hosted by the Office of the Independent Special Interlocutor, panel members consisting of the Mohawk Mothers (pictured above) as well as community members from Île-à-la-Crosse joined each other for a conversation around the challenges of incorporating Indigenous Laws into mainstream justice systems.
The panel highlighted the Gathering’s efforts in discussing the preservation and rejuvenation of Indigenous Laws related to the search and recovery of missing children. Julian Falconer, of Falconers LLP, had the honour of moderating the panel, with assistance from associate Mitch Goldenberg.
