Criminal Proceedings Begin for Toronto Police Officer Charged in Death of 19-Year-Old Brampton Teen

Today, criminal proceedings began in Brampton for Toronto Police Constable Calvin Au. Constable Au is charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm in relation to the death of Chadd Max Facey.
The trial is anticipated to last several days, beginning at 10:00am on Monday September 23rd. The criminal proceedings can be viewed by clicking here.
Chadd Facey died on April 26, 2021, following an assault against him by Constable Au in Brampton, in the area of Highway 50 and Bellchase Trail. During the assault, Chadd suffered head trauma and was transported to Brampton Civic Hospital that evening, where he died shortly after.
