This past weekend, the community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (“KI”) laid to rest and said goodbye to Zedikius Creed Jack Shoomin, a three-year-old boy who tragically died in a house fire in the community on March 23, 2026. Zedikius is the grandson of KI Chief Donny Morris. No words can fully capture the grief that accompanies the loss of a child, nor the profound impact this loss will have on those who loved him.
Falconers LLP extends our heartfelt condolences to Zedikius’ family and the entire community of KI during this unimaginably difficult time. Our thoughts are with you as you mourn, remember, and honour his young life.
Falconers LLP is proud to stand with KI and its partners in the Independent First Nations Alliance in grieving this devastating loss and pushing forward to advocate for change in the area of fire safety services.
